The characters are interesting but the story is a bit disjointed. Don't understand the immediate trust of Callie towards others who are strangers over those she knows. Seems disingenuous. The lack of communication is annoying. The deal with the bracelet. It's so close to being a fantastic series.Also please God find someone to edit this properly. Misspelled, missing letters in words. Phrases that make no sense. Very jolting when reading. Also the talking animals were interesting for a bit but I'm over it. They aren't funny nor helpful in any way. I really hope callie turns out to be something really interesting and not just a human that is just dragged and dropped into situations. A d if dreams are going to be a thing please make her smarter. At 40 she should have enough sense to see things as blatant clues. Missing simple stuff like the bracelet is annoying and makes her seem dumb. Hoping the next is better. Also, more Shade and more Willa. If only Callie is going to speak, why even start with others having a voice and POV.
