PDF Shadow (Heirs of Neverland Book 2) with Free PDF EDITION!

Kara Swanson continues her Peter Pan sequel with Shadow, the second half of the Heirs of Neverland, following Dust. This brought me the plot variety and ending that I felt Dust was missing, with emotionally resonant characters and story that pushes it to the next level, as well as new elements of the Peter Pan tale and a message that I enjoyed.The biggest issue I had with Dust was that it felt like the first half of a larger tale and the story had a little bit of a paint by numbers approach. Not here; we dig deeper into both of our main protagonists, Claire and Peter, and reveals a lot more about Peter’s past that we didn’t get in Dust. Both of them grow a lot as they have to deal with a dying Neverland, and the emotions don’t let up throughout, not even at the very end, which was very satisfying. The emotions were gripping and the twists were surprising to me in several occasions. While it’s still an emotional exploration of characters, which is Swanson’s biggest strength as a writer, it feels like an adventure in itself to try to restore Neverland, and I was engaged the whole way through.The solid themes, which has a Christian undertone, spoke to me, in terms of growing up and what it really means, but it’s not overt in terms of faith, which I like for a general audience. I also enjoyed the fast paced writing and rarely got lost this time around. I enjoyed the Peter Pan mythos being further expanded with new elements and I’m sure fans of the original tale would get lots of enjoyment out of this.Unlike Dust, which felt like it had an incomplete ending, Shadow can possibly be read on its own, but it’s better with Dust, as there’s a few references to that book. I enjoyed this Peter Pan sequel and look forward to more from Swanson!
